  • Classification according to Directive 453/2010/EC or Directive 1907/2006/EC: N/A
  • Emergency Overview: Irritating vapors to respiratory system and eyes may form when polymer is processed at high temperatures or burning. Molten or heated material in skin contact can cause severe burns.
  • Routes of Entry: For Hot Material: Skin contact, Eye contact, Inhalation.
  • Potential Acute Health Effects:
    • Eyes: Under normal circumstances products is no eye contact hazard.
      • Heated Polymer: Eye contact can cause serious thermal burns. Vapors or fume formed may be irritating to the eye when polymer is heated or burning.
    • Skin: No known acute effects of this product resulting from skin contact. However, in light of good industrial hygiene, exposure to any chemical should be kept to a minimum.
    • Heat Melted or Burning Polymer: Skin contact can cause serious thermal burns.
    • Inhalation:Negligible at room temperature. Irritating vapors or fume can be irritating to the upper respiratory tract when the polymer is processed at high temperatures or burning.
    • Ingestion:This product is not toxic, no effects are expected for ingestion of small amounts.
  • Potential Chronic Health Effects:
    • Carcinogenic Effects: This Material is not a carcinogen. Classified NONE by NTP, NONE, OSHA and by IARC.
    • Mutagenic Effects: N/A
    • Teratogenic Effects: N/A
  • Medical Conditions Aggravated by Overexposure: There is no known effect from chronic exposure to this product. Repeated or prolonged exposure is not known to aggravate any medical condition.
  • Overexposure/Signs/Symptoms:No Information available.

4 First Aid Measures

  • After Inhalation: The material is not expected to present an inhalation hazard.
  • After Skin Contact: Cool skin rapidly if contacted with molten polymer. Obtain medical attention for thermal burn.
  • After Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for a few minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid immediately.
  • After Swallowing: If symptoms persist consult doctor.

5 Fire-fighting Measures

  • General Information: As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. Decomposes at high temperatures, resulting in toxic and corrosive products. Containers may explode when hot.
  • Extinguishing Media: Use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or chemical foam. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out.
  • Auto Ignition Temperature: > 260°C (estimated).
  • Special Fire & Explosion Hazards:Dense smoke emitted when burned without sufficient oxygen. Heating or burning will release toxic gases or fumes, negligible explosion hazard.
  • Unusual Fire or Explosion Hazards:
  • Other Information: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and complete personal protective equipment when potential for exposure to products of combustion exists.

6 Accidental Release Measures

  • Small Spill and Leak: This product is solid, Small leak is meaningless, where scattered only need to pick it up. Good housekeeping must be maintained at all times to avoid stumbling hazard.
  • Large Spill and Leak: No Danger, to put the leaked products into a convenient waste disposal container.

7 Handling and Storage

  • Handling: Handling of plastic may form nuisance dust. Protect personnel. Pneumatic material handling and processing equipment may generate dust of sufficiently small particle size that, when suspended in air, may be explosive. Dust accumulations should be controlled through a comprehensive dust control program that includes, but is not limited to, source capture, inspection and repair of leaking equipment, routine housekeeping and employee training in hazards. See NFPA654.
  • Storage: Keep in a cool place. Ground all equipment containing material. Combustible materials should be stored away from extreme heat and away from strong oxidizing agents.

8 Exposure controls/personal protections

  • Ventilation and Engineering Controls:No special ventilation and engineering controls are required, the handling of these products need good ventilation.
  • Respiratory Protection: No special respiratory protection is required fro use of these products. If respiratory protection is needed, use only protection authorized in the US Federal OSHS Standard, applicable US State regulations.
  • Body Protection: No special protective clothing is required.
  • Protective Gloves: Unnecessary, to use rubber gloves or other insulated gloves.
  • Eye Protection: Unnecessary, to wear chemical goggles or face shield.
